thursday update

i got bangs again. and a webcam.

this week:
-monday-work 5am-1pm, meet with presentation buddy, stay out of the house so it can be fumigated (condition of crackheads living in basement), out for dinner, pick up cats from vet (due to fumigation) finish presentation write up. DONE
-today-do a big presentation on the feminist critique of capitalism (as a discourse, not capitalism itself) DONE, try to find a bikini for vacation (failed) write quick review of an article (about to do this, procrastinating), out for dinner with Diane (7 west).
-tomorrow-work 8am-2pm, rush to class 3pm-6pm, dinner at moms-bring home suitcases (one for me, one for aid supplies unless some other kind soul wants to donate one)
-thursday-write up post-summary of presentation, meet with lauren (hopefully), work 1:15pm-8pm, watch 30 rock.
-friday-work 8am-2pm (performance review ugh), pack for DR, valentines dinner!
-saturday-leave for paradise!!!!

i also have to get my travel docs in order (photocopy of passport! very important! do this!), finish readings so i don't have to actually read on reading week, and maybe get to the gym? who knows.

trips and trips and trips

the moon was huge huge huge. then it moved and shrank.



these lines of frost fascinate me. nazca lines on the window.

i only ever take photos on road trips. i need to diversify.

tonight i'm going to stay in because my entire body hurts from dancing. either i'm getting old or i was really givin' er last night.

to recouperate i have done nothing at all today except have my mind blown by the drum section of long and mcquade. who knew? i mean it makes sense that they would have walls made of cymbals, but what surprised me was how beautiful it all was. wooden drums are beautiful. (not talking about bongos here. i mean regular drums with laquered outsides like this.)

anyway, then we ate at disgraceland. their brunch menu is usually ok, but the food was actually terrible this time. i could have made a better veggie burger at home, and if i had done so i wouldn't have let it sit out for 10 minutes before eating it. dry, cold, terrible. you shouldn't screw up your staples.
