here we go again

yesterday i woke up with a grin on my face. today, i did not. but yesterday, the sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and my hangover was non-existent. more on that later. also, it was my day off. so i threw on a dress and marched out the door, with no destination in mind. with the summer coming to a close, i've been trying to make use of every minute of sunshine (and every summer dress i have not yet worn this year).

this dress will forever remind me of the night in dominican when we went out to the bar for dancing (and drinking giant beers). there was an awkward silence in between songs and i turned to the guy i was dancing with and said "soooo, do you come here often?". actually. i actually said that. to a non-english speaker. i should write a book on how to punctuate awkward silences in a way that makes things MORE awkward.

hi

first stop: SJCB for a scorching hot americano. i was a little worried it would make my guts explode, but i was ok.

next stop: soundscapes. i had sell-out anxiety about this show, i feel like he's gotten so much press (good and bad) that there is no way it's not going to be packed, when it was packed three years ago.

quick stop home, then out again to see alex and adelaide. this is the spadina hill. it doesn't look like much, but it is a HUGE bitch. this is also the exact moment that my hangover kicked in.

i was gasping. anyway, the visit was smashing, but i wish i had taken pictures of us hanging out in the ball pit. yes, the ball pit. what, you don't have one?

anyway, then i met up with lauren (and matt, and natalie very briefly) at the dog park and marvelled at all the cuteness. lauren and i made dinner plans and ended up at golden turtle. i had pho for the first time ever. i've never found vegetarian pho, granted i haven't looked very hard since well, i can make my own soup, but i didn't know what i was missing.

can someone tell me if this stuff is healthy? or is it one of those things that seems healthy but actually is full of gluten and oil and all that? we asked for half the noodles, but were ignored.

today stella has a vet appointment to get her blood levels checked. i am praying they have improved, or at least stabilized. fingers crossed.
