unfortunately i burned it to shit (it was on the bottom rack, meat one was on the top rack and of course was perfectly cooked) and had to scrape the toppings off onto a pita (which i luckily had laying in wait). no one is perfect. hopefully tonight i won't almost start a fire?
backing up, here is some of friday night. these are my friends poking my other friend's very cute pregnant belly. there is a lot of stuff in there to feel.

amy the midwife is explaining where all the parts are.

this went on for a while. endless entertainment.

also endless guac. almost, not quite. i wish. it was so good.

yay bettie! bettie graduated and got a job. congrats!

i regretfully don't know if this cat is jeremy or horatio. they are both orange and both adorable. they are floppy. i love them.

then there's this:

i don't know.
awww yeah. if that's not a party cat i don't know what is.

it was at that point that i pulled the parachute. and thank goodness because i was useless enough on saturday.
not too useless to make this veggie tray for holden's bday party:

yes, those are green beans. ok the baby carrots are kind of a cop-out but honestly you did not want me cutting tons of carrots in that state. at least I didn't want me cutting tons of carrots.
the party started out pretty tame.

shortly though, the balloons:

and this thing:

got the kids PRETTY riled up. they were tearing around the room screaming, throwing toys, rolling on the ground, dancing, and generally having THE BEST TIME EVER.
to top it all off, cupcakes. look how good and patient he's being.

the other kid that is wearing the exact same shirt actually blew out the candles at this very moment. haha see the face in the top right? there was an audible collective gasp. we were all worried he was going to be upset, but didn't seem to care at all.

whatever, yeah! cupcakes! scramble scramble.

yeah! take off your shirt! why not! who needs shoes anyway? not me! drag that streamer around and launch that rocket thing! it was absolute mayhem.

so fun though.
sunday, as i walked to meet up with natalie i spied this sign. WHAT are the chances?

i didn't take any photos of our patio visit. sorry.
on my way home, town moto.
here's the old honda's tank, stripped down.

and here she is sans tank and seat. i know andrew is going to take such good care of her. i'm excited to see it finished.

moving on:

at the party on friday, jana's like "so what's new with you?" i'm like "oh not too much, got these nail stickers oh and i'm going to therapy now". both ended up being interesting items of conversation. sometimes the most mundane things are relevant when you're with old friends.
speaking of leopard print (which i have always been a fan of and resent this recent trend, just ask my leopard print jeans i wore for a year in my undergrad when i was a "punk") these socks are the perfect thickness to wear with these sandals around the house to break them in without getting blisters. which is great because it is BALLS COLD out currently and forever it seems.

stella. she is always at my side.
