post dinner walks.

did this galaxy job on my way out the door to work, hence the leftover polish all over the place. it was surprisingly quick and easy, think i'll do a "tutorial" at some point if i can get around to it. people like those, right?

honestly, if you want it done right, go to Pinky's Nails and get an expert to make you look amazing. i'm obsessed with this one and i'll be making a trip in the near future. file under: massages, haircuts and waxing i.e. stuff i can get by without (or do myself albeit for a less impressive result) and always hesitate to indulge. i've had a gift certificate for body blitz since january. SEVEN MONTHS. i know people who go once a week. need to get on that. treat yo'self
last night i made thai salad rolls for dinner. they turned out amazing. you have to prepare all your stuff before you start assembling them because you don't want the rice paper to dry out while you're trying to roll them. i made the sauce first (sesame oil, lime juice, sriracha, ginger, peanut butter, rice vinegar).

stuffed them with lettuce, spinach, cucumber, avocado, carrot matchsticks, cilantro, and green onion. the beauty is that you can just use whatever you have - peppers, mushrooms, whatever. go crazy.

the ones on the right are single paper ones, the left are doubled up. i recommend doubling them, and leaving about an inch of single sheet to each side so that they're slightly wider than long for extra grippage when doing the side fold. the doubled ones stayed together better for eating. that's some leftover curry up there. i haven't thrown out any leftovers or produce in about a week and a half, really trying to be conscious of saving everything and using things up before buying anything new. it makes you more creative, which is good.
sooo, last night we went to dee's to see our friend tyler(formerly/sort of currently of Mare)'s band Barbara perform.
"Have you ever wondered what kind of music R. Kelly, Cannibal Corpse, and J.S. Bach would produce, if locked in a room and forced to create?
We have.
We are Barbara!"
watch their video here. it is really something. these guys are really creative and weird (not an insult) and are also really REALLY musically talented. tyler can KILL bohemian rhapsody at karaoke unlike anyone i've ever seen. really.
anyway, the show was creepy, of course, and it was pretty hilarious to watch the reactions of Mare fans who were unfamiliar with Barbara. NOT what they were expecting. i love watching uncomfortable people. squirm away, jock metal dudes, SQUIIIIRM!!!

the hedge clippers were used for greg road, my personal fave.

at this point, i had a decision to make. nachos or no nachos. i decided that all that art had made me hungry and that i haven't had a cheesy junk-snack in a loooong time so it was alright to say YES to nachos. guacamole baked in, just like the good old days.

this is my "why did you let me eat nachos" face.

WHYYYYYYYYYY my stomach is not happy with me today.
