two of my favourite things. my grandmother put those wine labels on that table, after drinking the wine. i love that.

the title refers to paris ("If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.”) but i prefer to think about the man he knew who carried fresh herbs in his pocket so that no matter where he was he could buy a piece of bread and have a meal on hand. literally, a moveable feast. they both work, I GUESS.

little bear cub guards the fire.

at some point this weekend i went to see joel plaskett play. it was an amazing show. when you're in a sit-down context you really see how tight the band is, and how talented he is.

photo 4.JPG

he played a double set, did a lot of solo stuff. loved it. he's a great storyteller, guy can weave a mean thread.

and back to nature.

OH HI.

photo 1.JPG

so i was reading on the porch, wrapped in warm blankets and beams of sunlight (see below), and i hear a scrabbling around behind me. that little guy was running up and down the screen, then sitting on the back of the chair staring at me, then running up and down the screen again. RASCAL. we had a brief conversation, during which i took his photo. my most 'liked' photo on instagram by a country mile. chipmunks. who doesn't love chipmunks? we had a chipmunk that lived in the woodpile at the cottage when i was little. we would feed it, its name was chippy. i remember the wonder when he would actually come close to me, holding my breath not wanting to frighten him. from that point on, every chipmunk WAS chippy.

i found a baby muppet in the woods.

photo 2.JPG

my hair looks weird here, like it's short. it's a low bun that has been rumpled and loosened by hammock-laying and fire-snuggling. basically i look exactly like this:

some things never change.
