hi, it's driving time. this is not a boat. it is a shit rental car.

i would like to know why rental cars in Canada don't have to have winter tires on them. i think this is a major hole in our bureaucracy (wow i can't believe i spelled that right on the first try). why do i have to fill out forms in order to fill out forms every time i need something licence-related but rental car companies can just give you the keys to a death machine? where is the paperwork on that? WHERE? you have to wear a bike helmet when you're under 18 but if you can rent a car then you can drive a 4,000 lb chunk of metal uncontrollably down the highway. this makes no sense. i digress.
now, it's favourite mug time. those are woods out there.

this is a treasure that i found in the "antique room".i think it's probably a replica/nostalgic reproduction, but wouldn't it be cool if it were an actual okay i looked it up, it's from the 70s. nevermind. still pretty cool.

there is a theme at my grandparent's cottage, and that theme is boat stuff. there is A LOT of boat stuff around. here is a fraction of the collection, starting with me in a nautical sweatshirt with a sailboat mug. please note that this is a different mug from the first one. there are many.

okay, some clay things on the walls.

love this drawing

just a replica of the bluenose

a little bit more over here

i'm guessing that this one below is the blueprint of their boat. some photos of one of their cross-atlantic voyages to the right. there is a photo of my mom on the boat that i've always liked, where she's wearing a brown hand-knit fair-isle sweater (with survival suit bottoms). i just inherited the sweater and when i reminded her about the photo, she told me that she's pregnant in it. with me. cool.

a little bit of this

a little bit of that

there was so much more i could have taken pictures of but i ran out of...focus. what can i say the armchair was calling.
