flah-rida

went to florida for a work thing. it was very work-y but here are a few snaps of what it looks like on the other side of spring.

first, beer. i was flying alone, and normally i don't like to drink before a flight because i hate climbing over people to use the washroom but goddammit i was facing a week of conference-ing, so.

the hotel was swanky.

went for a walk up the road and found this thing.

oh florida, you so crazy.

photo 5.JPG

speaking of crazy there is a greek restaurant that has belly dancers (makes no sense) and you're basically encouraged to get up and dance on the tables with them while people throw napkins at you. the guy beside me was like "i wonder what their napkin budget is?" pretty funny.

that would be the director of the directors of the directors gettin jiggy with it sur la table.

back at the ranch my rubber arm was being twisted.

what's that? all day meetings? well this is what you're missing, have fun!

on the tuesday, we had a break from 12-1:45 and you better believe that we put our bathing suits on under our business casuals. i think i stripped down while beelining to a chair. finally.

there was a hilarious night hosted at Howl at the Moon, a piano bar where you make requests and a live band either plays it with their singer or backs you up for karaoke.

photo 4.JPG

there isn't a single song that i know the words to well enough to do it without a tv. "oh well, i guess i can't embarrass myself in front of my colleagues, what a shame." i did demonstrate a (now infamous) axl rose dance. why did i do this? there is no good reason other than: sangria. the band ended up playing the hava nagila and brought the place down. the hora was done. that was when i made my exit but not before filming it for blackmail purposes.

airport shuttle.

i think i could get used to going there. not too bad. not bad at all.
