the other side of paradise pt 2

looking at these photos is more than a little painful. actually, looking at THESE photos is painful. thank you Linn for capturing evidence of my being in paradise that is not a selfie. ugh to be there, walking on a beach right now. actually, life isn't so bad right now but the colder it gets the better that looks.

let's go for a ride. a ride in a golf cart. look at those little hands. it has become a running joke in this crew how cute i think "little hands" are, as i am always commenting on photos of kids regarding what their little hands are doing. but they're just so little! i guess i see it like a subconscious/conscious extension of themselves, you can basically tell what they're thinking by looking at them. can you see the anticipation? such a proper little lady.

it's Spot #1. the kids love Spot. Spot is ambivalent.

unless of course, he thinks you may have treats. he was mouthing his lips all over my hand. the kids were terrified, especially when he tried to get in the golf cart. yeah, i know, who doesn't want a ride in a golf cart? i had to get between him and the kids. stubborn as a mule that pony was. i'm grinning because it felt so funny. that's my ocean hair. my hair was meant to be ocean-dunked daily.

Untitled

what a beautiful little guy. lashes for days.

Untitled

moving right along, here we are on halloween. the kids trick or treated at people's rooms, and because mine was so far away i was stationed in the wine cellar.

Untitled

that worked just fine for me, as i'm sure you can imagine. i won't post photos of people's kids here, because i haven't asked them and i'm too lazy and you probably don't care anyway. rest assured they looked adorable.

here is a giant snail.

it rained. sometimes for ten minutes, sometimes for a few hours. mostly for ten minutes, then it would be blazing sun and hot again.

Untitled

Untitled

whatever, weather. just have a dirty martini. these became my go-to. delicious, straight to the point, no hangover, delicious, and delicious. eventually i was being brought them without asking.

Untitled

oh! yes i would like one! i didn't even realize i did until i saw it all frosty and olive-y in front of me. thank you! now life is better than it was before.

Untitled

okay that's enough martinis. here are linn and martin, looking smashing as usual.

Untitled

did an outing to lake dudu, which is SO BEAUTIFUL. this is a cave on the other side of the lake. there was a couple just out of frame getting freaky in the lagoon. we felt like we were trespassing or interrupting them. but also, as you were! it's a pretty good makeout spot, can't really blame em.

Untitled

this is my new house, if you need me. i am still figuring out the postal code.

Untitled

honestly this place is like ferngully. that movie was kind of formative for me. it came out when i was 9. magic in nature, solidified in my brain forever.

Untitled

Untitled

especially the vines.

Untitled

we interrupt this nature documentary for OH LOOK another martini. another day another salty vodka drink. or several.

Untitled

reminder: the house is beautiful. you cannot imagine.

Untitled

i want to go to there.
