alright, so i've spent the past week wondering what the hell i did to deserve the little slice of heaven i enjoyed a week and a half ago. i am feeling very lucky, in many regards, but this trip always re-sets my mojo, and for that i am very, very thankful. let me show you. it will probably take a few entries to show you. this place is a photographer's dream, and although i only had my iphone 4 with me, i couldn't help myself.
here i am with the drink you are greeted with when you arrive at the front gate. it's the house drink. it's so delicious and much-needed after spending 7+ hours travelling that it was gone by the time i got to my room. i was definitely still feeling the effects of rob and tami's amazing wedding the night before. that's deserving of it's own post, i'll get there, eventually.

how did you spend your hangover on sunday? this is where i ended up:

as i say to the circling turkey vultures every year: "NOT DEAD YET"!

alright you lazy bum go did your hairs and put a dress on it's dinner time

then hold a very shocked baby

the next day, wake up and play with an almost-three year old.

eat breakfast in the garden of eden

explore the grounds like you're alice in wonderland because everything grows so damn fast around here! that cactus in the front (the spiky aloe-looking one) is taller than i am, for reference.

it's like being in allan gardens, only way better because you don't have to step outside into the dead of winter. you are ALREADY outside!

then go laze about by the pool some more. realize that your only possible annoyance would be that flowers are falling on you while you sunbathe. NOT BAD.

explore the grounds again.

welcome to the jungle

eat at the giant table. poor jd had to finish dessert by himself.

do whatever you want. ben cools off without removing any clothing.

take two: put a dress on and did your hair you lazy bum, it's selfie time!

aaand back to exploring the grounds the next day.

i spent a lot of time doing this - just enjoying the quiet, hazy, lush surroundings. being with myself. walking barefoot on the paths, on the beach.

people have tried and failed to take a photo of themselves in every seating area. it's not possible.

repeat for 7 days. add in some fun beach visits and some delicious, delicious beer drinking. there are more photos and i'll put them up when i want to. I'M THE BOSS.
