look at this tree. it looks so wise.

this is a hill i hit every 3/4 of a K or so if i'm doing the bickford loop. i try to pretend i'm a gazelle and like it's no big deal to spring up it but then reality hits after i'm past the top and i have to repeat "ACTIVE RECOVERY" in my head to keep myself going when really i want to lie down.

i wish every day could be like this one.

wasn't a great run. i had a super sore butt muscle from gymming on friday so i had decided to only do 5K but once i get going i want that 8 so bad. i ran out of time due to planning on a shorter one.

in my route i saw them setting up for the santa claus parade. i still get excited for it. walked down to the end of the street to watch it for a bit.

this float was great. a partridge in a pear tree.

candy canes are an integral part of the season.

mounties! yes!

aaaand the grand finale.

look at the little guy waving! so cute.

he was a great santa. got everyone riled up.
meanwhile, back at the ranch, stella eyes the money tree.

she stook there like a little meer cat just peering at it.
look at her stupid face.

yeah, nuzzle that leaf. it is now chomped. i potted this plant in a big clay planter, and now it's too big to actually fit anywhere that is cat-proof. when you have cats you have to look up every plant you buy and make sure it's not poisonous to them. this one isn't, but can cause vomiting if ingested so better for her not to be able to eat it. UGH. SIGH. stella you ruin everything.

not to be outdone, oscar had to have a snack on the celery. NO fuck you guys. stop eating my stuff.

so pompous.

so tiny.

oh, excuse me, but i am really really happy. i get to chomp on plants and snuggle on a sweater.
this is what naptime looks like around here.

not one but two. they waited till i was settled then selected their spots.

during this nap, the heat came on. hallelujah.
