we got off to a rough start when we collaboratively locked the keys in the trunk of the rental car. the doors were open but the trunk lever was busted so we had to get our best friends at thrifty to come save us with the duplicate. i can't say enough good stuff about those guys, they really helped us out.
this is christina on my lawn while we waited.

i started getting into panic attack mode, but luckily christina and karen talked me down. they are unflappable. we got there in really good time actually, all things considered. felt like we missed all the major traffic. made it for dinner.
fire time.

hey look, it's my stupid finger and some firelight babes.

karen puts out the fire like a boss

morning bliss. on the left is a special outfit that julia's cousin got for her. we made her put it on over her clothes.

on saturday morning karen runs into the cottage with this envelope, yelling "the bachelor came last night!" and i originally thought it was something she had cooked up, but not the case. it was left on the step during the night.
HMMMMMM. what could be inside? let's find out.

we opened it with great apprehension.

the contents were very strange indeed.

is it a message? a love letter? a threat? no one will ever know. the stick was A LITTLE creepy.

i said afterwards that it was "the most wes anderson thing to ever happen to me". it's true. ok dock time. oh, don't worry. parrot towel made it.

haaaayyyyyy. we spent a lot of time on the water on saturday. it was awesome. we also matched my nails to karen's shirt because we are experts at life.

saturday night was bbq night.

more dock time the next day.

we are upside down.

META

moved up to the cottage to make magic juice and get some more sun. magic juice involves champagne; get to it, ladies!

pretty girl reading

making music decisions and enjoying the long shadows. this was so fun.

four glasses of magic juice was not enough to keep me warm so leggings time it was.

sun is setting, let's catch it.

ok, business time.

how many babes does it take to open a bottle of rose?

and then it was gone.

after dinner was a vortex of a dance party complete with sean paul and negligees as well as a congo line of the "funky uncle" around the cottage. no pictures for you. things got a little wild. just wild enough that i have jamalammed my back and can barely move. i think it was the squat-winding. i'm not as young as i used to be.
thank you julia, for being the woman of honour, and to all the ladies for such a great weekend. you guys are the best.
