it's your birthday(s)

saturday night featured a birthday party for two ladies, both named Alex Victoria. born on the same day, named the same thing. Alex 1 does not have a blog, but Alex 2 does, it details the journey her family has had with little baby Oliver being born with one-third of one lung and other complications to boot. so this celebration was extra sweet, as everyone got to meet baby ollie and lay eyes on him for the first time in person. he made it.

me and Alex 1, she looks shocked. shocked that i am behaving so well. it's early yet.

okay, this was hilarious. these little toddlers were obsessed with the balloons and were running around dragging them behind them. i've tried to only use blurry shots as to not put up pictures of people's kids without permission.

so good. balloons were so magic when i was young. i have a distinct memory of accidentally letting go of a helium balloon and being paralyzed with grief as i watched it float away.

what more could you want?

what's that? you could want a bouncy castle? done. it was rated for adult weight so we obviously gave it a whirl. a whole bunch of half drunk adults bouncing. the best was waiting outside of it. people would stand there and look longingly at it then would suddenly kick off their fancy shoes and run in.

more adult fun to be had inside, this time in the form of helium balloons.

that's tom giving me stink-eye. tom's a lawyer and a smartypants. tom helped me out when the government was being a real dick to me (the time my luggage got flagged and i had to deal with a long line of dolts who all wanted to tell me about how i'm a rule-breaker, even though it was THEM that broke the rules). i learned on saturday night that since i am not using tom's likeness for profit, that i am allowed to take his picture. and am probably allowed to post it here, although the discussion didn't get that far. way to go, tom, YA BEEN BLOGGED.

it's pretty nice getting to go to ancient cities every now and then.

just hangin out. you can stroll amongst the statues, having conversations. "say, aphrodite, how do you keep your boobs so young? they've looked the same for almost ten years".

photo 5.JPG

if the conversation runs dry, you can always give em a honk*. HONK.

photo 2.JPG

*no paintings were actually honked in the making of this photo. it is an illusion.
